hey guys im sort of new to the whole using avisynth to convert movies and what not and ive been playing around with filters etc etc with some of the blu rays ive ripped to my computer. the main goal that ive been trying to achieve for months now is to replicate the quality of rips that uhh a friend of a friend of mine can do lets say, in which i cannot ask them for help directly..
anyways the type of rip im looking for is just basically a degrained, "clear" rip. and ive found out so far that i need to use a degrainer, obviously, and to obtain this clearer footage that im talking about apparently i need to use a sharpener filter. am i on the right track? its sort of hard to explain but basically the rips im looking at are like, more in focus than mine? clearer and no grain. theyre bloody nice rips which is why i want to learn how to do them.
problem is im not sure if my method/filters are correct. atm im using megui with the x264 codec on constant quality of about 20-22 and not touching anything else. and my avisynth filter ive been using asharp and playing around with values. things look.. different, like its sharper n stuff but i dont think my degrainer is working properly.
is there some kinda of basic combo of filters, or something you do in the other settings of megui that would give me a pretty clear rip? or does it depend on all sorts of things im not even considering or am i not on the right track at all? any feedback, criticism would be appreciated thanks.
