Hello,
I have at home a WDTV.

I have a MKV file that makes it crash. When I try to play it, I can still select the audio track or the sub track and the time bar will show the right total time. But the video doesn't play and I have to restart the WDTV to play anything else.

I tried repacking it with mkvtoolnix (it worked for me in the past with another crash problem) but this time it really seems like the video stream is broken and that the mkv packing is not the problem. The file plays fine in VLC on my computer.

I am not familiar with such things and I wanted to know if it's possible to "correct" a stream or it's headers to correct the problem.

Thanks for any help!

If you want to try 'fixing' an MKV then check this tool called Meteorite:
