Here's the issue: I downloaded a file with .FLV extension off the web. As far as I can tell it's got .264 video and mp3 audio. It plays nicely, but I want to trim some extra footage off the beginning of it that's not necessary and then burn it to dvd so I can watch it.

I can't get past the initial stage of trimming it..

Here is some of the info according to GSpot:

I'm not sure what to do. I just want to 1) trim off the beginning of the video that's unneeded without recompressing 2) burn it to dvd with minimal compression lost.

Can anyone help me out? I'm not sure how to do this.. I was able to use DGAVCIndex.exe to get a .264 and .mp3 and timecode files, but I can't seem to find any app that can work with them without losing sync.

I have tried searching the forums and lots of different tools like Yamb and mp4box and mktvtoolnix and flvsplitter and AVStoDVD and AVCHD and DGAVCDEC and I still haven't come up with a satisfactory result.

Thanks for any help.
