I just made a Xvid and Ogg backup. Since the movie was rather long i recorded the audio at 64. I was really impressed at how well ogg handles these low bitrate audio files. I noticed that it sounds a lot better than WMA at 64. Has anyone tried encoding at this level with sounds of water. I noticed when i recorded audio files with WMA at 64 that the running water sounded distorted. (I.E. A river runs through it). Maybe someone could comment on movie clips that perform bad when using ogg at 64.
But i'm very impressed with this open-source solution.
Keep up the good work!!
P.S. the overhead was about one-half of one percent of the total size of the video
691 compared with 694 Megs
