Got a qustion,
I have been using DVD2AVI in my coversions to DivX, but for some unknown reason, to me anyway, my computer would crash. I tried several times to "fix" what I thought may have been part of the problem... I put the VFAPI Reader Codec 1.04 in the same directory with DVD2AVI...that didn't work...so then I tried deleting the VFAPI Reader Codec 1.04 form the DVD2AVI directory and put it in another folder by itself..to no avail. I have a Pentium III ...733 MHZ...currently running Windows 2000, just switched from XP. When I was running Windows 98 I had no problems with DVD2AVI (wish I could just press reset and start all over, but I think I'm going to stick with 2000 and work these problems out).
So now I'm swiching to FlaskMpeg to do the conversions. But I'm noticing a few things. First of all, my first attempt produced a movie with ugly horizontal line distortions in the movie....looked like a deinterlace problem so now I'm deinterlacing it as I type....we'll see if that worked....another thing that is different from DVD2AVI is the framerate being produced in the DivX movie. With DVD2AVI I notice that all the framerates are 23.976, but with FlaskMpeg the DivX movie I made on my computer had a framerate of 29.97. WHich one is correct for making DivX movies? Thanks for any help that can be provided to my multiple questions.
