Good YouTube Type Video Portals

Hi :)

I figured what are good video sharing community portals?
What's everybody's recommendations?
Big community, good video quality, not so strict rules.

Here are my my few points what i know so far:

1) YouTube
* Large community.
* Video quality is bad, they encode Codec ID mp42 avc1, High@L3.1 ReFrames 1.
* There is 1080p, but it looks worse than 720p Vimeo.
* No nude pics - i made video of my favorite movies included
Virgin Territory (2007) nude bath scene screenshot, forbidden there. U get banned from there
because even videos where girl "dressed" that touches and tickles the feet of another girl always"dressed"
is considered pornographic. Or pett cat videos if trolls mass rate it over the community lines.
There was case where 30 year old woman weeping hand in video was considered sexually suggestive and because she looked younger = pedo.
* I finally got explanation from YouTube help forum, why all sexually suggestive materials is forbidden to all age groups in YT.
It's product to YT where they sold the change to sell more pornographic / sexual media products, to companies.
Sex is only to sell - it's been big part of money making machine in USA.
That's why European media portals are more free.

2) Vimeo
* Best video quality so far that i know, 720p Codec ID isom avc1, High@L4.0 ReFrames 4.
* Not so big community.
* Game videos forbidden.
* No sexually explicit material or porn. Non-sexual nudity is okay.

3) Dailymotion
* A lot better video quality than YT, 720p Codec ID isom avc1, High@L3.1, ReFrames 4, me=umh, subme=8, bframes=3, me_range=16
* Not so strict content.
* Average community.

Anybody knows what x264 preset can YT decode.
YouTube says x264 and XviD are problematic try another encoder.

I have never had problem with XviD in YouTube but 2 last x264 encodes have filed.
1st had no video in YT, 2nt showed only some p frames - like slide show.

Now i test with fourcc h264 and default AVC L 4.1 with slower preset (no custom options).

Hi

I think i have found out x264 settings that YT can decode:
x264: lossless / fast decode / zero latency.

Not 100% sure but YT processing preview shows different frames.

That must be that 0 b framest that YT loves so much. :cool:

Hmm 315MB 4M 53sec with PCM audio (virtualdub can't mux in avi flac or free AAC 500kbits).

Such a problems with YT, 30 hours of over and over uploading one file :)

YouTube problem resolved.

Youtube requirements for x264 video:
1) From x264vfw GUI:
* fast decode
* zero latency

2) I think this option must be. but not 100% sure they all need to be used:
cabac=0
bframes=0
weightp=0
rc=cqp
mbtree=0

1.) why are you using x264vfw? Stop. Use CLI instead.
2.) Youtube is known to have broken mp4 decoder, mux to mkv instead to solve problems.

Neither of them worked in YT (other than: fast decode / zero latency):

vfw.avi to youtube
vfw.avi to mkv merge to youtube
ripbot264.mp4 to youtube
ripbot264.mp4 to mkv merge to youtube
ripbot264.mkv to youtube

It's not allways been like that in YouTube.
But also many many months 6-12 at least mediacoder can't mux/remux mp4 container from x264vfw or ripbot264 x264 encodes. Audio i wanted to mux in mp4 was:
* Vorbis 500kbits, or
* LC-AAC (MPEG4 version, both containers AAC and MP4 was tested, 500kbits)

Never been a fan of youtoogle 'youtube' worst quality i have seen on any site, but has always been like that.

A better option could be to have video streaming media that is watchable not blocky, pixelated etc that is good enough for all broadband conections. Viewer can then decide to watch just that or choose to watch or download a higher picture quality version that has higher bitrate, resolution etc.

Interested also what you have to say for other sites, i guess your still compiling a list for them :)

YouTube videos suck at editing, but then its the largest video sharing site. I am not sure if you can find so many videos anywhere else.
