Hi!
A friend of mine just told me he spoke to an engineer of a well known brand (not Pioneer ;)) about what would happen to current customers buying a Pioneer single layer DVDR drive...
The guy told him he's not 100% sure, but he "feels" a firmware upgrade would allow the drive to actually burn dual layer DVDRs in a near future.
Do you guys think this can be physically possible or is it just a legend?
If you recall, some CD burners were "software upgradeable", going from a 12x burning speed to a 24x burning speed with just a firmware update.
What do you think of this?
Thanks!
