ChangeFPS or ConvertFPS ?

ive got a 720p @ 24 fps
ive got dubbed audio @ 23.976 fps
i want to change the video to 23.976fps
which would give me the better smooth video
changefps or convertfps
and i just add it to bottom of the script

Probably assumefps("ntsc_film")

mp3dom is correct, only assumefps is suited for that purpose.
But if all you want to change is the fps, a simple remux with e.g. mkvmerge is sufficient, no video re-enconding through AviSynth is required.

thanks guys , im making an xvid from the mkv
im still using standalone divx players in our house
time i spent some money and updated players for mkv i think..lol

will use assumefps(23.976)

Better use assumefps("ntsc_film") (should equal assumefps(24000,1001)) as suggested by mp3dom, it's more exact. (You probably won't run into problems either way, but there's no reason not to do it correctly.)
