I want to create a BD that contains the usual structure for video playback ("BDMV" and "CERTIFICATE", each with its subdirectories).
Apart from that, I also want to include files which can be used on a PC.

What is the proper place for these additional files?
Of course, they should not irritate any BD video player.

I couldn't find anything about that in the official specs...

Just a differently named folder in \root (side by side with BDMV and CERTIFICATE) will do.
This is what I use, I call such folder EXTRAS and it worked so far.

Do you have any references for that?
There must be some specs somewhere...

"Worked so far" is not very satisfying.

The BD dropped the ISO9660 restrictions. Under UDF250+ there's no longer a problem, as long as the BDMV/CERTIFICATE folders are present.
