Real Time Encoding from DVB Tuner

Anyone seen a GUI that can simplify the process of encoding in real time from a DVB tuner using x264 or similar in Win32?

VLC works but its a bit cumbersome and rigid.

Terratec Home Cinema can encode to .avi (XVID) or .wmv in real time. But the software only works with terratec products.

If anyone else is looking for ways to do it, its possible with FFmpeg, Mencoder and VLC but i had hoped someone had written a simple front end for FFmpeg/Mencoder.
