Question: Best de-interlacer for camcorder material

Hello video enthusiasts,

what is the best de-interlacer for PAL camcorder material. From what I understand the situation ist different from interlaced film material as the half-frames are taken at a different point in time. In your opinion, what would be the best deinterlacer?

@trbarry and Neuron2: would you recommend GreedyHMA or DeComb for this kind of material with fast-moving action scenes or would you use a different program?

They are both free and easily available so you can probably just try them and decide.

For GreedyHMA with PAL video you might try either

GreedyHMA(1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0) or
GreedyHMA(0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0)

.. depending upon your particular input source. Find which works best the easy way and then experiment with different options.

I'm quite satisfied now with GreedyHMA for my PAL DV movies.

Usually with the simple option GreedyHMA(1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0) or also with GreedyHMA(1,0,0,0,1,0,0,0).
