View Full Version : ATI All in Wonder Video Capture

Hello, I just found out that my All in Wonder PCI 16 meg will not work with my motherboard and Win2k/XP to run the TV/Digital VCR :( What would you recommend I use for capturing video? Is video studio good? or just use VirtualDub?
Please let me know :)

Goto ATI's website and get the latest drivers and software
for your card.

Make sure you uninstall your previous drivers/software before upgrading. After restarting and
verifying that everything is in order try using MMC. Or get
Virtual Dub and test the capture.

What motherboard are you using, and your other hardware configuration on your system. Hope that helps.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I contacted ATI and they told me that it will not work with Win2k/XP and my board using the Intel 430HX chipset.(ASUS P55T2P4 K6II500) They are not sure why but for some reason Win2k/XP access's the chipset a different way than 98 does and the chipset can't handle it. I have a scanner that only works with Win95/98 as well so I guess I'm stuck with Win98 on that machine.

I had an old TYAN board with that chipset and it was nothing
but problems. Funny thing was out of all the TYAN boards that I owned that one was the wierdist. I'd recommend switching to an AMD platform (VIA,SIS,AMD760...ect)from now on. hardware has gotten alot cheaper these days.

I have recently assembled a pentium 4 1.7 Gig using
a SOYO P4S2 board, my TV in Card is Flyvideo98, this card
is working fine with Windows 2000.

I can use VirtualDub and AVI_IO to capture video from my
VCR with no problems so far.

Maybe you should give it a try.

you should really give avi_io a try as it even works good with slow machines. iuVCR is also good as it solves a lot of audio problems.

post some benchmarks of that beast of a system.

Unfortunately I have no much time at this moment to run benchmarks
or even capture all I want, but I can assure you that I have no dropped frames when using AVI_IO.

I forgot to mention that I normally use PCVideo Codec set to no compression or HUFFYuv and because I have a 60 Gigabytes hard disk and NTFS, file size is not an issue at
the moment.
