Hi all,

sorry if I post this in the worng section, but I couldn't find anything more suitable and I know that you people here might have an answer to my problem:

A friend of mine is recording videos with a special pipe inspection camera, the recording format used is AVC Baseline L3.0. He asked me for help in order to be able to burn these vids to DVD but no matter what software/codec combination I try, I can't get these videos recognized and transcoded. Playback is only possible in VLC. Looking at the file with MediaInfo or Gspot everything seems ok, but somehow the format is not recognized by any other player I tried.

Could somebody help my out and have a look at one of the files and tell me whats going wrong? Is there a problem with the file itself or am I simply to stupid?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:thanks:

Cheers

You'll have better chances of getting it working if you mux the .264 elementary stream to MP4 or MKV container. Use MP4Box or the Yamb GUI for MP4 muxing and mkvmerge (GUI) for MKV.

mkvmerge in.264 -o out.mkv

MP4Box -add in.264 out.mp4

Thanks guys, that did help. With FFMPG resp. with WinFF I could easily transcode these files and I can now set this up for my friend so that he can use it on his own.

Thanks again
