Hi there

I need to encode in h264 interlaced upper field.

I try mediacoder with Cuda but doesn't work.

Right now I'm using MPEGStreamclip and it works fine but too slow :\

Specs' computer :
i7 920
6 GB RAm
2x 1 To Raid0
GTX 275

What could be the best & fastest way to encode in 720x576 50i or 1080i 50 ?

Cheers

How about:

x264 --preset veryfast --tff --crf 20 -o output.mkv input.xyz

x264 is not necessarily the "best" or even "fastest" option for interlaced encoding, but it also doesn't cost USD 40k. x264 should be faster than CUDA encoders on your hardware.

If you need compatibility with Blu-ray or other hardware players, see http://sites.google.com/site/x264bluray/

I personally wouldn't go any quicker than --preset faster. You start to lose a lot at that point.

I understand --tff is for Interlaced (Top Field First).

But MediaInfo reports MBAFF for Scan type instead of Interlaced.
Is it the same or is there another flag to use with x264 to get Interlaced?

Thanks

MBAFF is a form of interlaced coding.
