Could someone please determine if this video (The Office UK Series DVD, 25fps) is ITU or non-ITU? I think it looks like ITU (using a picture-program and compared the circle objects to a same-sized circle-pen), but I´m not 100% sure, so I ask for sure :)
Thanks

I still think it's non-ITU

try to find a round object that are exactly perpendicular (neither the fan nor the traffic sign are exactly at 90°).

When I encoded those DVDs I picked the non-itu method.

The first picture doesn't help, but my "gut" tells me the non-itu version of the second picture is the correct one. And despite the angle my eyes seem to be happy the fan is round in the second version, but not the first.

Of course the beauty of anamorphic encoding is it's no big deal if you get it wrong, you're still encoding the same pixels, just specifying one shape or another. If you change your mind later on you can always use MKVToolNix to resave to MKV with a new aspect ratio (or YAMB if it's an MP4 etc.).

Thanks, you´re probably right, this one looks like non-ITU (although it might not be exactly perpendicular either):
