AMD CPUs have unbeatable power/value ratio for video coding (if only the codec supports multiple cores well). On the other hand AMD does not have top performance consumer CPUs so if your budget is not limited go for Intel rather than AMD. Maybe it will change when AMD will show its new CPU family in June.
