I have an issue I downloaded a few full-sbs samples and my wdtv live hub can't play them, I was wondering what the best way was to convert them to half-sbs so my wdtv live hub can play them. I was thinking using megui but i really don't want to do a re-encode them just a re size.
You must resize and then re-encode.

I have no problem resizing that is what i would like to do. But there is no pass though mode at all? and should i set the resize to 960x1080p or 1920x1080p?

There is no other solution if you want to play the file straight on the WD live : it just can't play such huge files.
If you could play the file on the PC you could do the resizing on the fly in many ways (use the stretch features of you media player, change the aspect ratio tags of your file, use FFDshow or Avisynth resize filters on playback, etc...)

Since your hardware decoder can't handle 3840x1080 video, the content itself needs to be resized and the only way to do that is to decode, resize and then re-encode. Changing container flags for resizing during playback will not work.

1920x1080.
