I currently use a binary patcher to make mpchc look more neat both in windowed and fullscreen. The patch removes unnecessary 3d-borders in status pane and dims colors as default UI looks too obtrusive and reminiscent of 1990's Windows 3.1.

I wonder will MPCHC always look like it currently does...?

UPD. just have a look at these screenshots taken from MPCHC BE mod:

Nice. Has potential.

AFAIK the most common requested changes for MPC-HC's GUI are: auto-hide of toolbars in windowed mode too, new buttons/controls and transparency so... this seem kinda far from what the majority expects from a new UI, but if you can add those to your idea you may be on to something

@Mercury_22, those are rather massive changes which I would like to see happening of course, but what I'd like to point out is that even current UI could be easily rearranged into a more neat one (the aforementioned patch changes just a few bytes), so there's no need to postpone start of the process into a distant future.

The default is best, no need for that extra bullshit.

Idem, default is best.

video is the main thing, and the default UI with lots of bright distracting ugly stuff is the extra that is unneeded.

UPD. Screenshots from BE mod added to first post.
