Ok well I have been ripping my BD's with anyDVD HD and Handbrake, working great but all the rips come out to 1920x820.

Can i change the settings to force 1920x1080 or is there going to be some visual problems??

Thank You

Does the picture look the same as the original or is it distorted in some way? I don't use Handbrake but it sounds like the top and bottom black bars have been cropped leaving you with just the picture. That's probably a good thing as there's no real reason for encoding the black bars. 1980x820 is roughly a 2.35 aspect ratio so if all the video is coming out the same maybe it's just co-incidence you haven't encoded a movie with a different aspect ratio yet.
If you really want 1080p you'll have to stop Handbrake from cropping the black bars (sorry I can't help with specifics as I don't use it).

Yes, yetanotherid is probably right. You can disable the automatic cropping of black bars in HandBrake in the Picture tab and set it to "custom" with 0,0,0,0 if you feel like you have a reason to keep them.
