I'll gladly pay for it so freeware doesn't matter. I have some 20-30GB mpg files I cannot open with Avidemux (my preferred tool) so I was going to convert them to m2ts (my preferred container) so I can work with tsMuxer and etc. I just don't want to lose quality in the conversion.
I was looking at HDConvertToX v. 3.0 but it looks really complicated.

tsmuxer accepts mpeg2-ps ; why not re-wrap it with tsmuxer ?
is there something peculiar about your files ? since avidemux doesn't open them ?

With tsMuxer I receive the following error:
Error: Can't parse Program Stream Map. Too large size 4832. Max allowed size 1018 bytes.
Perhaps I need a lossless mpg splitter first?

your files are probably non-standard
try loading with dgindex and demux it (file=>save project and demux video), then load into tsmuxer

You're awesome, thanks so much. I merged the demuxed files with tsmuxer and got my m2ts file working great so far and only took about an hour for a 30gb file (demuxing and then tsmuxing).
