MP4 Demo Clip

Hi all, dont know if this has been posted before, is quite an
old post on another forum with link to a pretty impressive,
low bitarate MPEG4 demo clip.

Clip stats:-
1280x720p@25 FPS
ABitrate ~70kb/s AAC VBR
VBitrate 482kb/s VBR

IMHO it's nothing special. motion is low and the picture is crystal clear. that favors compressibility a lot. plus HD resolutions "mask" artifacts much better than SD. as you can see where there is some more motion, quality suffers badly.
that's pretty much what you can expect from an efficient h.264 encoder.
if you want something impressive, try this: http://mirror05.x264.nl/Dark/x264clips/LowBitrateAnime.mkv - the video bitrate is 50 kbps (yes, FIFTY kbps) and 71.3 kbps including audio.

take into consideration that video was encoded some time ago with an old x264 version. probably with a newer version better results could be obtained.

Don't read TOO much into it :) It's also very clean content, in my opinion.

Still, it's a very impressive demonstration of what best-in-class compression can do!
