Ts to mkv eith mkvmerge. async.

Hello.

source file TS (h264 or mpeg2, audio mp2) from dvb-t receiver.
output: MKV file for playback in a bd standalone player.

I dont use BrHdExtractor because I dont have installed the Haali splitter on my system.
my process: demux the source TS file with eac3to. I obtain a 264 (or mp2 file) + ac3.
If I remux this elementary streams with tsmuxergui the output file is in sync (then multiavchd...).

I would like to remux with mkvmergegui to get a file MKV. (my settings: copmpression: none. fps: 50, not 25!).
no warning messages.
but the resulting MKV is async!

1) what to do to get a sync file?
2) if the output file is bigger than 2GB should I burn it into a udf 2.50 data disc and not iso?

clarification:

the first seconds are in sync. than beginns async. it gradually go out of sync. at the end the async is of several minutes!

Hi! I obtain a 264 (or mp2 file) + ac3.Just drop these two streams/files onto MultiAVCHD and select .MKV for output...

this were a wonderfull solution.
multiavchd says: unable to detect the actual duration of this title, enter the proper duration in format hh.mm.ss.

then I get none output.

hello.
I tried with VLC player/converter.

source file TS MPEG2: no problem! very fine.

source file TS H264-AVC: now I have found the settings for VLC converter:
profile: video H.264 + aac (mp4)...custom settings needed:
audio mpeg2, but I get audio mp3 only (?!!?)
video 264, 10400Kbps, 25fps.
incapsulation: mkv (or mp4, the same effects). file extension: i forced *.MKV* or mp4 (the same effect).

now the playback is good (even if the sync is not 100% perfect as the source file TS).
but there is a little problem:
some frames appear pixelated, some frames only. see please the snapshots in attach .zip.
can you help me with the settings so that I get a good video?

this is the big problem:


The resulting file uses more than 4 Reference Frames. My player does not support playing back files which exceed 4 Reference Frames!

what to do? what about the settings to get a MKV file (h264 avc) with 4 reference frames only? is it possible?
I hope this were possible. Please let me know. thanks a lot.

this is very good idea (multiavchd).
I tried it succesfully. the encoding settings are correct, very fine!
my process:
demux > process with multiavchd removing the audio stream > (eventually convert mp2 to ac3 with audacity, depending of the content of the source ts container) > remux mpa audio and the "silent movie m2ts" with tsmuxergui [if the content is mpeg2 I need to swet manuallt the audio delay in tsmuxer]> load the output m2ts into multiavchd > select "bluray output" (burn udf 2.50 the bdmv and certificate folders only) or select "avchd strict" (because i dont have installed avisync for building menù) > burn the folders avchdtn and bdmv only.
this works fine on the standalone bd player! :-)
[but if I simpy load the source file ts into multiavchd and process it, I get a very very bad async as m2ts output. so I "need" to follow this long process]. ok.

when the source TS contains errors I use eac3to (not tsmuxergui) successfully, because eac3to can fix the gaps (discrepancities...).ok.
but if the file is damaged (pixelated due to a little bad signal from dvb-t portable antenna) eac3to cannot demux it ("dirthy file..." "source file seems to be damaged"...) and I get tausend warnings messages!
at the moment nothing to do, I think, because ProjectX cannot handle HD content and Ts Doctor handles at the moment audio ac3 only, not TS containers with mpeg2 video and mp2 audio, for fix the streams with errors.
I tried to cut the bad frames, then join the splitted file with TsSplitter&Joiner, but the resultig remux causes a bad bad async (sometime TsRemux can help me, sometime).

but if the source file is perfect I get perfect results with demux/remux/process with multiavchd. super!


but I wrote this post for another reason.
if I record from TV broadcast a concert/opera HD, I burm the avchd folders from multiavchd (or the 2 main folders of the bluray structure) in a AVCHD DVD or (if the size of the m2ts file is too big, i.e. 3H 20M = 17GB) I burn the output in a BD+R disc. ok. :-)

but if I have a very little TS (>m2ts file) or if the source TS contains mpeg2/mp2, I would prefer not to burn in a whole dvd/br disc with avchd content (for 1GB or smaller files only!).
so I think it were wonderfull to create a MKV file (I hope without quality lost/without compression? hmmm), this file should been burned together with mp3 or jpeg files or divx movies or little movies from my fotocamera...
but I dont have installed the Haali media splitter, so I cannot load the demuxed elementary streams into multiavchd to get a MKV output, nor remux those raw streams with mkvmergegui.
so I have found this option in VLC player.
TS mpeg2: ok.
TS H264: pixelated, due to the fact that this VLC Player/converter uses more than 4 Reference Frames as output. hmmm bad thing for my player :-(
I tried to load the VLC output file (MP4) into mkvmergegui for remux it into a MKV, but I get the warning message (see please my first post above).
also this were very usefull for my little files without have to burning them in a whole dvd/br for one little file only.

I wrote to the VLC forum but none replied. so I dont know if I'm wrong with the settings or if it is a limitation of the Vlc player...

Were you or were you not successful as the result of doing what I suggested regarding MultiAVCHD?
