I googled for some details on rec.709 and rec.601 and was amused to see that my recent post onto this forum was at the top of the list...cool !

However, a few links down i saw my exact question posted onto another forum, is this right ?

Looks like one of those sites that wants (so far unsuccessfully) to be a go-to site for getting answers to tech problems. Then they try to sell advertising.

We hate such sites--they are simply "noise" and dirty-up web searches... :mad:

i wonder if they're gaming google's ranking algos? i'd never heard of that site until a week ago, and the only link to it i've ever seen is in this thread!

Yes, unfortunately, this kind of stuff happens a LOT. People will go to other forums to steal answers to other questions and post them to make themselves look credible. So don't be too surprised if this happens more than once if you give really great answers.
