Hi, I'm a newbie in ripping and is seeking for help.
My video has a part that is scratched, here is the picture:

I searched the same problem in the forum and find some posts useful, but when I applied the script it doesn't work. Here is the thread I found:
DeScratch plugin for film line scratch removing: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=67794
Cos' Avisynth is very new to me I don't know whether I applied the script right or not. It just didn't help improve the quality of the scratched part.
Any solution for this?
All answers will be highly appreciated. Thank you all in advance and sorry for my bad English.

It doesn't appear to be a case of the film being scratched. It appears the file is damaged or corrupted in some way.
Can you cut a section where there's a problem and upload it somewhere for someone to look at for you?

Hi yetanotherid,
Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, the original source of DVD is corrupted. I tried many ways but no improvement.
Here is the video, the corrupted part is about 1 or 2 second at the very beggining: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERXRMyGxL-E
I asked for help because there are a lots of parts like this from DVD because this is a very old drama (even the DVD I bought is DVD Retail).
Again, thank you, yetanotherid ! ^^

Hi!
Try using "ISOPuzzle"...

You'd probably need to upload the original vob file (or part of it) somewhere because it's hard to determine anything from an encoded copy.
How are you getting the video off the disc? Are you ripping it (copying it) to your hard drive before converting it or are you converting it straight from the disc?
I ask because maybe there's sections of the DVD which are hard to read and a video player would possibly just skip over them, whereas if you rip the DVD to your hard drive the ripping software will probably keep on trying to read the whole file properly.
Sometimes when one drive won't read a disc properly another will.

Try using "ISOPuzzler"...
Interesting software.
I'll be downloading that one to try on the next problem DVD.

@ setarip_old: Thank you very much for the reply. I wonder if ISOPuzzle works with VOB files because the files were uploaded on the Internet (the files is from DVD Retail) and I downloaded it to my computer. When I finish downloading, I opened it and the problem appeared.
I downloaded the ISOPuzzle and it seems just works with the DVD DISK, not works with the files. Any other suggestion ?
@ yetanotherid: I downloaded the files to my computer and then started ripping them, yetanotherid. Any solution for my case ?
Thank you for your help ^^ .

Thank you for your help ^^ .
We're not allowed to discuss downloaded stuff here, so before someone closes the thread I won't say your best bet would be to try downloading them again. You probably just have corrupted files and there's not much you can do about it.
