Hi guys
I have a 1080i MPEG-TS video which I want to encode to 720p.
After successfully deinterlacing it with QTGMC, I've noticed some aliases (don't know if they are aliases or not), in the output. Anyway, it's not the QTGMC that causes the alias artifacts, but the source has them itself.
Can you suggest some antialiasing filters can handle this? I've used SangNom and SAA at their default settings but with no effects.

You know this is on vevo @ 480p and it probably looks better than this even when it is upscaled to 1080p on-the-fly.

Err, not really. This video is capped from Palladia HD (Upscaled, to be more exact), and it's possibly upscaled from the DVD Retail, which has been of the best quality so far (and much better than VEVO 480p, of course).
Although the video looks crappy at 1080i, a resizing to 720p will do it good. And I can't produce any better upscaling than Palladia, so this is always my choice if VEVO HD & Blu-ray are not available :D
Back to the topic, can anyone give me a suggestion?

This antialiasing function (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=553304&postcount=5) has done a better job than others I've tried.

is it able to tivtc? tried that first or do the 540P method or use limited sharpen faster

@cobo: I've just try it,and it gives no differences compared to the source.

it's an upscale. The aliasing took place at the native resolution of 480p. To remove the aliasing, you need to downscale to 480p again. After you've downsized to 480p and smoothed the aliasing away, then you can upscale to 1080p again. Muahaha.

Intriguing, isnt it :|
Are there any other ways to handle this (you know, i'm not able to do an upscaling better than palladia)

Don't worry. Judging from those screenshots, it's almost impossible that you could do worse than that. :)
