A bad rip maybe?

I used the lastest version of DVDFab to decrypt Salt to my hard drive, after re-encoding it mkvtools tells me - This AC3 track contains 1792 bytes of non-AC3 data which were skipped The audio/video synchronization may have been lost.

Is this a case of a bad rip due to the program, as i have heard dvdfab does do ome strange things at times, or is there a way to fix it short or re-ripping?

3) Did you play the DVDFab rip, to see if it is out of synch?

2) Using MeGUI to encode the vobs to x264

3) It happens from time to time but if you move the slider backwards or forwards a few seconds mpc-hc puts the audio back into sync

Sounds like the problem arose after (not because of) the ripping.

On the other hand, it should be no big deal to re-rip your original DVD...

If the Salt version you have is that "3-in-1" version, then you have to "edit" the version you need in pgcedit/vobblanker to remove the problematic zones, the tiny cells. I don't remember whether this disk contained bad sectors.

Yes its the 3 in one by the looks of it, i will give it a look over after i have re-ripped it, once i get it back from my brother, who decided to "borrow" it while i was working nightshift :mad:

If it's just the main movie you are after, extract the main movie from the copy on your hard disk with DVD Shrink to a new VIDEO_TS folder, then delete the useless cells in PgcEdit and then run FixVTS. That should give you a clean source for MeGUI.

AH! I had forgotten about fixVTS, thanks for jogging the old grey matter, to be honest i havent used it in a while as i didnt think it would work on the newer dvds, but heres hoping :-)
