Today it was the first time I ran "eac3to -test" with version 3.24, and this is the warning displayed by my PC's firewall:

'audio conversion tool' from your computer wants to connect to
c-a376e655.024-44-73746f50.cust.bredbandsbolaget.se
[85.230.118.163], port 80

To the best of my memory, the previous versions of eac3to never did that.

yes, but now it checks for latest available versions of for example nero aac encoder and do those checks online.

HTTP (GET /showthread.php) ConvID = 40
- IPv4 (192.168.123.1 - 158.250.16.1) ConvID = 45
- TCP (51627 - 80) ConvID = 46
HTTP (GET /mkv/ ) ConvID = 47
- IPv4 (192.168.123.1 - 212.192.248.241) ConvID = 50
- TCP (51628 - 80) ConvID = 51
HTTP (GET /mkv/ ) ConvID = 52
- IPv4 (192.168.123.1 - 88.198.45.199) ConvID = 64
- TCP (51629 - 80) ConvID = 65
HTTP (GET /videotools/mkvtoolnix/downloads.html ) ConvID = 66
Other Traffic

Apparently eac3to grabs version information from these web-sites in order to check for updates.

So nothing to be worried about :)

Still, my PC's firewall will keep denying network access to eac3to —

— after all, I *am* paranoid :devil: :D
