Restoring low quality anime?

hw can i restore low quality anime. is there a tutorial or smthing anywhere.. my video is noisy, and white regions in the video looks weired at some frames
Actually its a rare anime and better quality is not avaliable.. :( its a tv-rip and ripped craply at 320*240 resolution, so i was thinking of restoring its quality as much as possible :|

This Convolution3D setting is avaliable in its original documentation and its for AnimeBQ (anime bad quality) but not much improvement :(

OMG!! I discovered this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=134078) thread and got the script wrking... (i was feeling very dumb n noobish :P) and it worked well..

the encoding was very slow! how to do it fast?! help! :rolleyes:
and a super-foolish question ---> how to increase the resolution/resize the video?
should i just add the required resolution in Spline36Resize(last.width/2,last.height/2) as Spline36Resize(640,480)

If you're gonna upscale, I think you might want to look at NNEDI2 or one of those various EDI filters by Tritical

Hello, you need to put a video sample if you want more responses, or at least lossless images, or even better, both!. Take lossless png's of scripts with avspmod.

More important, that tvrip is so bad is not even worth the effort of all those filters. That anime is not rare, even i know it from somewhere maybe?, get a better source.

If you still want to do something about it try something like this. Really, why more.

Thanks for the reply :D!! yeah you are right its realy bad rip and restoring would be wastage of time and effort :P but i dont think better quality is avaliable not even in raw!! Actually this is Doraemon (Longest running Anime with 1700+ episodes). 1-50 episodes are avaliable in subbed and nice quality. And All movies are also avaliable at some sites. But mine is eps #1538 and i cant find more episodes not even in raw! :( anyway thanks again!

So if it's somewhat more than 1700 episodes, it puts us ~3,5-4 years back at max. That's the "New Doraemon" that started airing in 2005. DVD packages exist and are on sale on amazon.co.jp, which also sends stuff out abroad if needed (can be found under the name of "TV版 NEW ドラえもん" if you search). I really recommend you to go for them if what you have on hand is all that you have available.

wow!! i didn't know that its avaliable on dvd's thx! (i found all movies but no eps :P cos' i never looked in amazon jp). i have some more episodes but all crap-rip i hate them.. thanks for the suggestion i'll look for those dvd's ^___^!

Btw eps #1538 airdate is 14.05.1999, the previous anime has 1787 episodes and the newer one has 196 [source:anidb.net and animenewsnetwork]

Actually this is Doraemon (Longest running Anime with 1700+ episodes).
A nitpick I know, but Sazae-san has aired continually in Japan since 1969, making it not only longer than Doraemon, but the longest running animated program in history.
