MPC-HC: can play either PCM or DTS-MA, but not both

I've got the K-Lite Pack installed with MPC-HC build 2858. If I have the DirectShow source filter for .M2TS set to Gabest, I can play M2TS files with DTS-MA soundtracks just fine, but files with PCM soundtracks are full of static. If I switch it to Haali (or Auto), DTS-MA files are silent and PCM files play A-OK.

Is there anything else I could change in order to get both of these types of .M2TS files to play properly? I've been playing with a zillion combinations of source filter settings and the external filter settings in MPC-HC without any luck...

Well, I think I've got it figured out. I added the ffdshow Audio Decoder as an external filter and set it to preferred. With the DirectShow source filter for M2TS set to Gabest (instead of Auto or Haali), I can now play M2TS files with either of those types of soundtracks. Sweet.

Then it must be the internal PCM decoder in MPC-HC that is failing. Upload a sample file for the developers of MPC-HC. Then they can fix it.
