I have some NTSC tv captures that I used TomsMoComp (or sometimes Yadiff) while saving to x264. I figured they were broadcast at 29.97fps, so why not leave them at 29.97?
Well, they look awfully "ghosty" when played back on my laptop now. I'm now doing IVTC on my tv captures, and they look alot better as 23.97fps.
My question is: Can I decimate my older 29.97 captures down to 23.97 on playback? I know it'd have to be a dumb frame drop or blend since most of the field matching info is probably gone, but maybe it'd look better.
I'm using Media player classic home cinema with ffdshow doing the decoding for playback. Ffdshow has a bunch of great filters, but I don't see any that can drop frames. Does anyone know of a software player or directshow filter that can decimate on playback?
Thanks!
