Tried latest Windows Media Player Home Cinema 1.4.2499.0 and it does not offer any obvious way to "open/play BD" (as compared to how it offers "Open DVD").

Is there any BD software player (preferably freeware) which can simply play the BD after I insert it in the drive?

Also when I mount my Moon Blu-Ray disc in drive X: then try to access the drive, Windows XP reports "Disk is not formatted. Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."
Is this normal behavior?

TIA

If your O/S is WinXP (or older), you have to download and install a UDF 2.50 driver...

Anything which totally baffles me puts me in the "newbie" group imo

A moderator certainly did when I started asking about MKV (even though I had a lot of experience with DVD ripping to AVI/Xvid) and shifted my posts from AVC to Newbies...

Anyway thanx for the info, it fixed the problem, tho the M2TS files on the BD will only play when AnyDVD is resident. Odd, I would have thought playing the files on disc would have negated their encryption in a similar way to DVD.
