Issues with MergeMKV

I am trying to merge two mkv files together, but am receiving the following error:

Error: The track number 1 from the file 'C:\Users\xxx\Videos\mkv\thx_broadway_2000.mkv' cannot be appended to the track number 1 from the file 'C:\Users\xxx\Videos\mkv\4695_universal.mkv'. The track parameters do not match.

The first track has the resolution 720x480 and the second one 1920x1080. Mkvmerge won't append tracks of different resolution.

I don't get what this has to do with makemkv.

Ya, on my auto email I just received, I noticed I had the incorrect title. If an admin could change it to "Issue with mkvmerge", that would help.

So ya, I'm using mkvmerge, not makemkv, sorry for the confusion.

Is there a way to convert the 720x480 to 1920x1080? I do not want to go from 1920x1080 if at all possible.

It's possible, but the file has to be resized and reencoded. You can use the x264cli (see --fullhelp for the resize options) or any of the GUIs out there (like StaxRip etc.) for the job.

For now, I am going to scrap this idea and focus on XBMC as that appears to do what I am looking for, thanks for your help.
