Change blu-ray first play?

is there a way to change the first play of a blu-ray? i have a blu-ray which i have stripped the 3d version out and now want it to skip the part where it asks do you want to play movie in 3d or 2d, and just go straight to the 2d menu.

Tried for a while now to get bdedit to do something, read through the explanation on pels home page but even getting a m2ts to open in and play in mediaplayer doesnt do anything, even though mediaplayer works fine with clownbd??? Someone must know how to change a universal film title from playing the logo, then a load of trailers, then a 3d / 2d choice menu, to get it to play the bd-j 2d menu as first choice.or even skip the 3d / 2d choice menu after the trailers.

You have to figure exactly what you want the first play to be. I.e., specifically what HDMV or Java title you want it to jump to.

Problem is, if the disc is actually Java programmed, and the Java loads first and that controls everything, you'd have to get into the program code to disable/bypass the startup sequence.

When it asks if you want 2D or 3D, and you select 2D, what does the disc jump to? If you figure that out, just select that in BDedit. If you don't know, just change the First playback settings in BDedit and try it. Trial and error, go through the list, eventually you might get something you want.

What title is it, BTW? Exact instructions are going to be title specific, might help if I can see it myself (if I can get the title)...

The easiest and more efficient way is to blank those warnings or trailers. For this you can use multiAVCHD (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=151925&highlight=re-authoring) or Clown_BD BD Copier (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=154574). So you don't have to mess around with BD-J code and render the disc useless and you ensure good playability in both software and hardware players.

Thanks for the answers, i suppose i could blank the trailers but would'nt the menu that chooses 3d or 2d still need instruction?, ps on choosing 2d, you go to the bog standard universal menu.. video playing in back ground with overlay down left hand side with the options of play, chapters, set up etc. I have already used clownbd to rip out the 3d version so the rest will fit on a BD-25 without recoding, i just thought it would be pretty mint if i could get the title to go straight to the 2d menu, or after playing the universal logo and trailers bypassing the 3d / 2d selection and going straight to the 2d menu.

You can't do that without reconfiguring all the paths in the BD-J code. You'll have to know java programming I presume. Why is that little thing bothering you ?

its bothering me because its something i've always been able to do with dvd, but as you point out java is a different animal.

Not always, only after the first tools were written (Ifoedit, pgcedit & the affordable commercial ones) and this happened 5 years after the introduction of the DVD.
