AAC 5.1 Conversion

Hi Friends,

I want a software to convert aac 5.1 to other formats even aac 2.1 which allows to me to select a a specific output size .tried besweet but it's not recognizing it.can anyone suggest any good converters with more options.

aac 2.1? I don't know. For what 2.1?.
Maybe you mistake LFE channel with Subwoofer.

To aac 2.0 or other formats you can try BeHappy (AviSynth based, BassAudio decoder).

I use foobar2000 (it's an audio player) along with the "convert 5.1 to stereo" plugin, the appropriate input format plugins, and of course with the necessary encoders installed. It'll also open audio via AVISyth scripts so you could use ffdshow's output matrix to mix the audio to whatever output you choose and foobar2000 will convert it.

I don't know about selecting the output size though. It's not something I think about with video most of the time and never for audio.

thanks tebasuna51 Behappy is recognizing the aac 5.1 audio file i want to convet it to aac 5.1 with a lower bitrate how do i do that in behappy ??plz help!! tried super but keep showing error xvid4psp will not encode this!!

no tebasuna51 i just want to know how to convert aac 5.1 to aac 5.1,ac3 5.1 using behappy with variable bitrates there are a a lot of options it seems a a bit confusing

To encode to aac Variable bitrate use NeroDigital encoder (AAC Profile: Automatic) and select the desired quality.
With q=0.3 and less you obtain AAC-HC, with q=0.35 and more AAC-LC (recommended).

AC3 5.1 Variable bitrate is not recommended, use CBR (Dialog Norm.=31, DRC=none, Read to end of file)
