Hello,

using mkvextract to extract audio track from original DVD:

mkvextract tracks title00.mkv 2:audio.ac3

The extracted track however doesnot match the audio track inside the original video, it is somehow corrupted so that it doesnot match the video anymore, moreover it is 1min shorter than original video.

For comparison here are media infos:

Hi!using mkvextract to extract audio track from original DVD:

mkvextract tracks title00.mkv 2:audio.ac3 This appears to indicate that you did NOT (nor can you, as far as I know) use MKVExtract with an original DVD...

I'd suggest you cold reboot your system, then re-rip the DVD and extract the audiostream using good ol' DVD Decrypter or similar...

I used MakeMKV which is official DVD to MKV transformer, is soething wrong with it?

No, there's nothing "wrong" with MakeMKV (one of my favorite tools), but if you're simply desirous of extracting an audiostream from a DVD, there's no need to perform an intermediate conversion to .MKV...

BTW - What is the title and region of your original, commercial DVD?

ok, I don't know of other way to extract an audio stream than via Makemkv/mkvextract

The title is Once upon a time in the West, region is Europe, don't know code

One method is to use good ol' DVD Decrypter as follows (Don't let the number of steps scare you off. It's quite simple):

1) Load your DVD

2) Set DVD Decrypter to "IFO" mode

3) DVD Decrypter should automatically highlight/select the main

movie under the "Input" tab

4) Click on the "Stream Processing" tab and check "Enable

stream processing"

5) UNcheck all of the videostreams and audiostreams OTHER

THAN THE ONE YOU WISH TO EXTRACT.

6)HIGHLIGHT the stream you wish to extract

7) Click on "Demux"

8) Click on the "Destination" icon and select the drive/folder

location to save the audiostream to

9) Click on the "Decrypt" icon

Note - For an LPCM stereo audiostream, you may have to go

to:

Tools>>Settings>>IFO Mode and increase the VOB/WAV size from

1Gb to 2Gb, in order to be sure to generate only one .VOB/WAV file for

the entire audiostream
