I just downloaded a year end special for my wife. It consisted of 2 ts files. I ran the 1st part through TS Muxer and got a video file and an audio file. I tried to join them using MKV Merge, and i got this warning: Use smart reencode before trying to multiplex it. Shortened GOP parts found, a few frames dropped. You may want to fix the Mpeg 2 video stream before trying to multiplex it. I have tried to find smart reencode without luck.
The original ts file is perfect...great picture,in synch and good sound.
I would like to know how to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks .

That's good but it still doesn't answer my question.

If you want the website it J Popsuki. It carries oriental music and tv shows and music specials. The show is called 61st Kouhaku Utagassen. I played the ts files on VLC player and everything is fine. It is after I demuxed it with TS Muxer and tried to merge the audio & video with MKV merge that the problems started. I hope this helps.

at first try to join both files blindly by "copy /b file1.ts + file2.ts file1_2.ts"

Try demuxing with ProjectX (jou can add the 2 ts files into ProjectX and process everything in one step). Your output from ProjectX will be merged to elementary streams for video and audio which is hopefully fixed from some problems and then you can mux it into mkv using mkvmerge.

ProjectX is very good at fixing problems with MPEG-2 video.
