I have a foreign language DVD, I used DVD Shrink 3.2 to rip only the language I want and main movie.

But after doing this, the DVD has audio on 0x82

How can I remap 0x82 to 0x80 using DVD Decrypter?

I have tried the DVD Decrypter guide on here, but the result is a DVD that has no audio. Can someone please aid me?

Why do you want to change the ID? EVERY DVDplayer is able to cope with this, it's not a requirement of the standard that the first audio be 0x80, it only defines the allowable ranges for audio, subtitles etc.

The first gen WD TV needs a 0x80 track to playback sound. In DVDD select IFO mode, stream processing and map the stream. Problem is that DVDD does not write an empty video_ts so you can't open the files with Shrink or PowerDVD.

So how do I create a VIDEO_TS

It should be possible with IfoEdit but I never got it to work properly. An easier way might be to change the stream ID with PgcEdit.

With IfoEdit.

However, DVD Shrink v.2.3 (not 3.2) can open individual titlesets, a feature dropped from 3.2 (or I was not able to find it).

I've tried to open the files remapped with DVD Decrypter in 2.3 and while it appears to work the resulting files are empty.

DVD Shrink has an preference which is something along the lines of "logical remapping of available streams". It's not checked by default, I don't think.
I've never given it much thought before, but isn't it supposed to do what you're wanting to do?

Nope, it also doesn't work (http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/LogRemap.pdf).

What happens if you re-author the DVD with DVD Shrink, disabling all the streams but the one you want to keep? (as opposed to just disabling streams and shrinking the DVD)
You'll lose all the menus of course, which I think is mostly a good thing, but maybe when DVD shrink creates the new DVD structure it'll fix your problem too.

Doesn't the WD player play other formats? Couldn't you convert the DVD to XviD or x264 and only keep the audio stream you're after? I don't know anything about the WD player, but it'd no doubt save you space too.

What happens? Shrink keeps the stream number, so when the original disc looks like this

0x80 english
0x81 german
0x82 french

the reauthored DVD with french only will keep

0x82 french

which throws off the first gen WD TV. Converting the DVD to xvid or x264 takes a lot more time than just making an ISO of the main title.

So, there's only the solution of remuxing the whole thing, which should be faster (depending on the HDDs you have) than a full reencoding, and preserves the original quality, too.

Apparently it is since WD did not bother to fix this in the original hardware but in the next (WD TV 2nd gen) or the one after that (WD TV Live) instead.

So can you open the vob files with MKVToolnix (append them if there's more than one) keep only the streams you want to keep and remux the whole lot into an MKV file that the WD thingy will play?

I use Ripit4Me for ripping DVDs which in turn uses DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to do the actual work, but after ripping in movie only mode RipIt4Me creates a new DVD structure which you can then play or open with DVD Shrink etc. I'm pretty sure it lets you select the default audio stream, and although I have no idea how it handles the re-mapping when it rips the DVD, maybe it's worth a shot?

The WD ignores any stream settings, always the first stream is played back (when subs are turned on) so RipIt4me won't help you there unless it actually remaps the streams from 0x80 on. Instead of MKVToolnix simply use MakeMKV to convert a DVD to a MKV the WD TV will play, although there appear to be some issues with subtitles (http://community.wdc.com/t5/General-Discussions/WD-TV-LIVE-persistent-subtitle-issues/m-p/95698/) with this method.
