Greetings,

having installed x64components and win7codecs bundles wanted to keep my os clean and uninstalled both, then reinstalled ffdshow only + x264vwf as those are only I want to use furthermore. But now players whose rely on systemwide codecs refuse to play. Was thinking that ffdshow covers almost all formats but doesnot.
So the question is what codec or codec pack should I install back to be able play MPEG2 video, my concern is to keep as little as possible 3rd party codec packs installed while retaining most common video formats playability.
Thanks for feedback.

OS=W7/x64

FFDShow does, but you have to bypass Media Foundation framework for it "to work" ...

OK I reinstalled ffdshow and Haali media splitter complely now, and it seems to play again.

Yet one more question, In ffdshow decoder dialog, which video codecs are good to associate with ffdshow, I see only a few are not disabled..
thnks.
