If a Blu Ray disk has 10 bit video depth, is the resulting re built file also 10 bit or reduced to 8 bit.

It was just that I noticed that there are different versions of X264, 8 and 10 bit resolution.

I take it then that 10 bit is for profesional systems (non BD spec HD).
