View Full Version : Importing ONLY English VOB files from dvd

Hi,
Haven't been on here in a long while, but here's my dilemma and question.
I'm using DVD Decrypter 3.5.1.0 When I try to import VOB and IFO movie files to edit in CyberLink PowerDirector 8, I'm getting primarily foreign language files, sometimes with the commentary. I've tried using the streaming feature and unchecking all but the English language, but then I get no audio.
I want to decrypt only the main movie files in English, nothing else. Can anyone help? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Try using DVD Decrypter in "IFO" mode...

Hmmm, thought I posted on here a while back. Perhaps not. I'll try the mode you suggested and let you know. Thanks.

"Try using DVD Decrypter in "IFO" mode..."
Just tried it setarip_old. It still came out in a foreign language (French I think).

Why the need for Cyberlink PowerDirector 8 when you need only the main movie with EN audio?
Just use any ripper in IFO mode and stream processing and be happy. I assume the ripper is able to decrypt and copy the DVD.

This is so WEIRD! I just imported 4.5 VOB files into PowerDirector using IFO mode and stream processing. I had only the 0xE0 movie file checked as well as the English audio (6ch and 2ch) and all the files captured and imported in English-only perfectly except for VTS_01_4 which had the directors commentary on it! How in the world did that happen and how can I prevent that?

Probably 2ch is the directors' comment.

Hi Ghitulescu. I use PowerDirector 8 for all my home video editing. My goal is to edit out unwanted profanity and scenes from my movie dvds and I've already gotten pretty good with editing using PD 8. The editing is the entire reason for doing this. I'd like to edit production movies exactly the way I want for our own personal viewing. Does that make sense? Any help is appreciated.

Trying it right now without 2ch...will let you know.

You guys are GENIUSES! The commentary WAS in 2ch and unchecking solved that as did the IFO streaming. Thank you so much. This is great!

FYI to get only English in DVD Decrypter using IFO mode, you also need to go to the side tab for Stream Processing, and then manually uncheck the tracks you don't want.

@osgZach
In Post #10, "TraderMike" said The commentary WAS in 2ch and unchecking solved that as did the IFO streaming. So I guess he/she already figured that out ;>}
