View Full Version : Renaming audio streams when encoding?

When I encode movies with AutoGK, I'd like to rename the titles of the audio streams in some cases to denote what it is (director commentary, etc).

Can this be done from within AutoGK, or how can I go about re-naming them after the fact? VirtualDub using stream copy? (I have played around with that idea, but I cannot seem to get the title to save as anything other than metadata rather than re-naming the audio stream you'd see if you right clicked in VLC or KMPlayer, etc).

Thanks for the help.

As far as I know naming streams isn't supported inside an AVI.
If they don't have to be AVIs. You could run them through MKVToolnix to re-mux them as MKVs, naming them along the way. It doesn't take long.
