I was just wondering on what is the best way to capture video from my satelite dish? What is the best hardware to use and what are some of the problems I might encounter? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

Do you live in Europe or US or some other place? Do you have digital or analogue equipment?

I'm not familiar with Expressvu (I live in Sweden myself). Assuming it's a digital system perhaps this product from Hauppauge is what you're looking for:

It will allow you to save the MPEG2-stream directly to your harddrive. From there you can frameserve to your favorite editing program.

If Expressvu is analogue you're stuck with conventional capture techniques. It would be suicide for me to claim what product or what technique is the best ;-) Personally I use the capture function of my GeForce2. There are much better capture boards out there but the quality I get is more than enough for my needs. Applying some filters during editing makes wonders.
