You guys can ban me or nor ban me for this it doesnt matter to me, because i wont post here anymore, just wanted to get something off my chest.
Ive been waiting to post in this thread for 5 days, i had a legit problem that i posted in this thread which got closed down
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1463931
now i kept all my business private and just made a simple question about the program. I dont understand why you guys are being so anal about it seriously. Because i download files? So what, who says they are illegal, because you assume so?
What im doing in not any less legal than what you're doing, oh wait you actually think someone is making back up copies of their own blu ray movies? GIVE ME A BREAK, who's got time for that, and for what.
Like seriously i just needed one question answered and you guys are just being redicilous. I didnt bullshyt, i didnt come up with another username and i didnt sugar coat anything, you could have given me one simple answer and then deleted the damn thread, or at least pm'd me.
Jesus Christ people i just needed a simple mind to tell me what i was doing wrong, and you bring all the bs from the other forum.
End of rant, excuse me for being the bad guy and doing things illegally.

I think the moderators already said they don't support downloaded material. Lots of good info here but the owners of this site must draw a line somewhere or it will be closed for good.
Besides, indicating you have a download as no bearing on the specs of the file you are working with.

You could always try Doom10 (http://doom10.org/) (the place can be a lil' bit quite tho.)

Besides, indicating you have a download as no bearing on the specs of the file you are working with.i know they did, listen i did not indicate what file it was or where i was getting it from untill some joker in my other thread started doing his detective work instead of minding his own business if he had no intention of helping in the first place.
and in all fairness i should add that anyone on here accusing anyone of doing something illegal is a hypocrite, and you know exactly why.
i was asking something related to the program, how hard was it to ignore what file it was and where it came from, and just answer a simple question. im no different than anyone else here, i needed help and i came for advice. i didnt ask anyone a combination to a city bank, or a place where i could buy a gun, and for that matter i didnt even mention which file it was.
it's a simple download from a boxing website where thousands of fans like myself go and get fights, it's no different than downloading music or even downloading content off of youtube. and i just wanted to figure out a quicker to split it, THAT IS ALL. But jesus people on here got so hurt and instead of answering a simple question and later deleting the thread if it they wanted to pretty much told me to gtfo.

What may seem to you normal, may be outrageous to others. In the end, this site's policy is that people are not supposed to help people committing copyright infringement. What you're trying to do is illegal just like downloading content off youtube is also illegal (you receive a license from youtube to view content through their interface, not to download material from them). Lots of things, though common and routine for some people, are actually illegal.
While I may not agree with all the rules on this forum and I don't agree people should start asking various questions and demoralize or make the person asking just abandon, in the end what you did was against the rules.
But to answer your question in the first thread... the only reason you'd need to split large files into smaller 4 GB chunks is if the disk's format is FAT32. If you want just to transfer easily to your computer, you can just use Winrar setting the compression to store and split in 1-4 GB volumes and then extract the files to your computer.
Now if you have said "I paid for a digital download of something and saved it on a computer and now want to transfer it to my home computer... " - you would have received help because it's legitimate use. Hence why I'm against some of the rules - because people can avoid the rule easy by lie and the forum is not the police or a judge to rule what's legal or not.

I'm closing the thread. It's OT for this subforum, and is frankly inappropriate. If you take issue with how your posts are moderated, please take it up with a second moderator.
