post a dgindex's log for any video vob
anyway 1280x720 is an upsample, it's discouraged and useless...
those line's artifacts can become out if u use a point resize (neightbours) instead of bilinear/bicubic/lanczos resize.

Ok, Which method is the best bilinear or bicubic or lanczos for resizing ?! and Why Smart Resize filter for VirtualDub don't have lanczos method or i must use AviSynth filters ?!

@Didée
i will post a sample soon...

I'm sorry but i don't know what do you mean about that ?!

usually in a dvd-video structure there are many small vobs and a serie of 1gb vob eg vts_0X_01.vob/vts_0X_02.vob/vts_0X_03.vob/ecc.
open one of this with mediainfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en) or dgindex (http://hank315.nl/files/DGdecode/dgmpgdec158.zip) to know the dvd's spec.

Avisynth's resize usually are better than vdub's, and provides more resize and more settings; but for only resize is a lack of time, lanczos or bicubic -0.60 should be enough.

edit: is waste of time not lack of time XS

Why do you post an already processed 720x480 AVI sample? PEOPLE WANT THE SOURCE!!!!!!!! (VOB)

Apparently, no one read his first reply. He said he bought these from eBay, meaning they are likely Bootlegs or custom DVD's from someone illegal. That is why they are such a strange height/width.

People did read the first post... whether bootleg or not, people still (and always) want the source!

In the posted sample, lines are not broken. Case closed. :D

Ok, guys this is the original vob file:
http://www.mediafire.com/?q7txcxcd79j45zb

And this is the file re-sized with smart re-size filter using filter mode Bicubic in VirtualDub:
http://www.mediafire.com/?m66k85zicikkuem

The lines are not broken because i chance the filter mode from Nearest nighbor to Bicubic as Motenai said but there is no lanczos filter mode in smart re-size filter...?! How i can use this method ?

Just some thoughts......

My mediainfo tells me it's the expected 720x480.
I'm glad your line problem is sorted out now, are you now not happy with using Bicubic? or you want Lanczos because you want to upscale?
Do you think upscaling it to a HD resolution will improve it somehow?

One question I do have for anyone reading this.... What's with the 'shaking' in the sample? I've not seen that before, very evident when the clip first starts, like a fast 1 or 2 pixel left|right shake..... or having I been drinking too much????????

I want to try Lanczos mode but i don't think upscaling it to a HD resolution will improve it. It's only lets say convert DVD quality to 1280X720 SD (Not HD) but i want to know how much Avisynth filter can improve the quality that is it...?!

I really don't know where the shaking come from ?!! I only cut sample from vob file using dgindex that is all...

1280x720 is SD?

There are plenty of scripts for upscaling. Try a search.

e.g. This thread has interesting discussion (though probably not the latest scripts)...
