Hi there,
I hope I post this thread in the right place.
I’ve bought recently a media player and my intention is to rip my copy of Schindler’s List (which is a 2-disc movie) and watch this movie from the players HDD. No problem so far.
But,
Is there a way to combine this 2-disc movie seamless to a single VIDEO_TS folder, so I can watch this whole movie without menu interference?
I’ve tried DVDRemake, but when I start this result, the openings menu asks me if I want to start disc 1 or disc 2. This is not my goal.
Greetz,
Funky

Here's what I'd try. There are probably better ways of doing this.
First, rip just the two movie parts from the two disks into separate folders.
Then use DVDShrink to read in the first part. Then (I think you
do this in reauthor) select the second part. DVDShrink will combine
the two parts into one. When you play the results there will be a
short pause between the two parts, but there might be an option
in DVDShrink to control the length of the pause.
It might also work to just append all the VOBs together after you
rip the two parts, and then use IFOEdit to generate a new IFO file.
You might be able to do it with ConvertXToDVD. I think there's an
option to play parts without having to go back to the menu.

This method allows you to jump to any menu or title on insertion of your DVD, setting the audio and subtitle streams of your choice and by-passing anything in your way (e.g. annoying FBI warnings, studio promos and Dolby Digital trailers) and having all the DVD's internal registers set exactly as they would be if the commands followed the original path.

By following that guide you can make the DVD skip past the menu to go to the title you want (the movie itself). I think it may go back to the menu after the first part of the movie, but I can't remember, not having used DVDRemake in so long. If it does, you'll have to change some menu commands so that instead of returning to the menu after part 1, it goes directly to part 2.
Or else just reauthor both DVDs into one using DVDShrink in Reauthor Mode using no compression and it'll remove the menus and go straight to the movie.

Thnx for the respons people.
I forgot to mention, the most important thing is that the quality must remain 100%.
Normally I get the shivers when I hear the name of DVDShrink.
Edit: oh, I see that it's possible to not decompress the movie. Thnx. I'll give it a try with DVDShrink.
