How come there are so many guides online for converting your MKV files to an M2TS container so your PS3 can play them off a hard drive or flash drive, and yet every single time I do a conversion none of them ever play. They're not visible on the PS3 from the flash drive no matter what I do.

How come everyone else has no problems?
Your question is not detailed enough, so it can't be answered.

In all seriousness, you need to describe how exactly you're converting from Matroska to M2TS.

Select the flash drive, press triangle, and hit "Display all".

Select the flash drive, press triangle, and hit "Display all".

If you put your videos in a folder called VIDEO at the flash/hard drive's root, you can skip the "Display All" step.
