Suggestion: Autocropping of vhs head switching (flickering bottom horizontal lines)

First, I am newbie so please forgive if I am stating anything incorrect or stupid.:)

There is a filter for autocropping (http://avisynth.org.ru/docs/english/externalfilters/autocrop.htm) black bars.

A more serious problem is likely the flickering horizontal lines at the bottom of vhs clips. I think they are caused by head switching. Unlike the often small black bars fixed by autocrop, these flickering lines are very visually distracting as well as having a substantial effect on file size.

So an idea, if possible, would be a filter that autocropped this.

Due to overscan the head-switching noise of VHS (and not only VHS) cannot be seen on a regular/consumer TV. The number of lines is not fixed, although it's pretty much "standard" across makes and models. It might spoil the viewing pleasure on a PC.

Can you create videos showing headswitching? If your captures show this, I can give you a diagnostic video to determine what exactly is showing in that "noise", and in fact, use it to reconstruct the video - that way it's not noise anymore but perfect video :)
