View Full Version : Resize an mkv movie

I have some movies with an .mkv extension and are between 6 to 8 gig and 720p. I want to resize them down to 4.37 gig to fit on a DVD. Which program would I use to do this? I've used Handbrake to do a couple but after I resize them, the subtitles, which are an .srt file, are not in sync any more. Some movies are ok but not all.

I've used Subtitle Workshop to get them close but not good enough. I can get the subtitles to play correctly in the begining and end of the movie but not the middle.

So I'm wondering if there is a better program to use instead of Handbrake? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

Ripbot264, StaxRip, HDConvertToX, MeGUI, multiAVCHD will all handle MKV to MKV properly ;)

Thanks. I will try them. Is there a tutorial anywhere that explains the proper way of doing this?
