Below is a screenshot of the next gen Carbon list of intermediate and final formats. While the user can add to the list I'm hoping to include all of the most popular formats by default.
Some notes:
The formats named "PC..." are resolutions commonly used for resizing DVD content to display on PAR 1:1 monitors.
The "ITU" formats account for the analog standards active area not being the same as the sample size and correct the PAR accordingly.
2K and 4K formats can have any aspect ratio that can be defined using numerator and denominator values from 1 to 255 (e.g. 2.35:1 would become (internally) 235:100)
So, have I missed any important formats? Again, these are intermediate and final formats only, not ingest source resolutions.
