(Please forgive me if I'm not asking this in the right location. I have spent hours searching the internet and trial and error for a solution that I just am not able to find as of yet. Any help is greatly, greatly, GREATLY appreciated!)

I have a Sony HD camcorder and have recorded some 700 video clips that I would like to archive.

I have purchased a BD-R burner so I can minimize the number of disks I archive my files on to.

I would like to be able to burn the ORIGINAL MTS files (original quality with no formatting/converting/or rendering oF files)from the camcorder to an AVCHD BD-R that will play in a standard Blu-Ray Player.

I have looked high and low for a solution to do this. The closest thing I've come to is MultiAVCHD which does close to what I'm looking for (and adds some cool menus) - however that has a limit of about 250 files - and I want to be able to add all 700 (18 GB) to a single playable BD-R without formatting the files (plus I don't require menus).

Is there a way to do this? If so, how? It seems like a product that would be a no-brainer... but I cant find anything that will do it. PLEASE HELP. :)

(Also: I know the arguments about the potential "short shelf life" of optical media. That is not a concern of mine.)

Hi!

I believe that with the excellent "multiAVCHD", you're using the best of what's out there to get as close to your specific needs as possible...

Is there no other program that will do something similar? MultiAVCHD is a good program, but the 250 file limit makes it an unworkable solution.

Or, possibly, is there a way to direct copy files from the camcorder to a playable BD-R? I have a hard time believing there's not a solution like this. It seems like it would be a no-brainer.

I also have a Sony HD camcorder (HDR-CX110 recording straight to an 8G microSD card), and I just want to get some viewable files onto my computer. The Sony software doesn't seem to support a simple drag-n-drop copy, and these MTS files aren't playable (or even recognized) by any software I have (Nero, PowerDVD, VideoRedoTVSuite...). How do I get the A/V off the card & into a "normal" format? Am I just missing an obvious & simple answer? It wouldn't be the first time...

Sony also manufactures an USB burner that is supposed to be connected to a camcorder (most probably only SONY) which assists you in creating AVCHD disks (DVDR) directly off the camcorder. Panasonic, JVC do have too their own burners, only Canon hasn't yet one.
